In Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Chapter 27, Yuji Itadori notices Mahito coming down the stairs toward him and Junpei. For a brief moment, Yuji questions whether Mahito is even a curse. That thought shatters when Mahito exposes his true self and violently throws Yuji into the wall with a warped arm.
Taunting him as “Sukuna’s vessel,” Mahito shows his twisted personality. Junpei tries to step in but is utterly helpless. Overcome with anger, Yuji realizes his hesitation was foolish and understands that Mahito is exactly the dangerous curse Nanami warned him about.
