In Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Chapter 42, just before the Kyoto Goodwill Event begins, Nobara Kugisaki chats with Yuji Itadori about Maki Zenin. Yuji admits he doesn’t know much about the jujutsu world, but he clearly sees Maki as a strong and calm fighter.
Nobara then explains that Maki’s low rank has nothing to do with her ability and is instead caused by discrimination within her own family. She hopes the upcoming team event will finally give Maki the recognition she deserves.
